Race Description: The Lowell 50 is a classic old world style gravel road race. You’ll race along the banks of the Flat River and through rural Ionia County on approximately 70% unpaved roads. You may choose from either the 50 or 28 mile race, both routes are single loops.  The courses are challenging, scenic, fun. Included are two historic wooden covered bridges dating back to the mid-1800s’. They are very cool!

                      When: October 27, 2012. Start time: 10:00 a.m.

Where: The race will start and finish at Fallasburg County Park (See Location Map). This park was first opened in 1929 on 56 acres of land. It now encompasses over 180 acres including two spring fed streams, an island on the Flat River, and a portion of the 4000 mile North Country Trail passing through its boundaries. The park also boasts paved and unpaved walking paths, several play grounds, ball fields, and a disc golf course. Bring the whole family; Fallasburg Park is a real gem and a great venue for this bike race.

We will be using the lodge for our fall event. This will be a welcome addition for packet pickup, registration, and post-race refreshments. We will also be moving the start/finish area to that side of the park. The race course routing will have some new twists and turns to keep this race unique from our spring event.
