2013 Flat Race Series
Updates
The course changes for the 2012 fall race were very well received. We removed most of the blacktop from both race routes. They are now both nearly 90% all gravel roads.
The lodge with its large fieldstone fireplace and inside facilities was a real nice addition to this race as well as the stone arch at the finish area. The lodge also offers ample and convenient parking.
No changes planned for the new race course or our new venue.
We expanded and added a few new race classification. We also upgraded the awards and raffle prizes which are listed and detailed below.
Race Classification:

Race Classification:
- New Fatbike class for the 28 mile race (minimum tire size 3.7").
- New 3 member team classifications for the both races. The teams may consist of all women, all men, or any combination of men or women. One fee for the entire team which also includes the cost of tabulation.
- The women's classifications have been expanded (See BikeReg).
- Minimum 15 mph average stipulation for the 50 mile race. Why? We have to move our officers on the course to various intersections as the race progresses for the elite racers (their average pace is over 20 mph).
If you would like to ride the 50 mile course but are unable or do not want to maintain a 15 mph average, no problem, well have a early 9:00 am start time just for you. Call it a timed Gran Fondo if you like. You will be required to ride single file and ride as far to right as possible once the main event starts. Important Note: No police protection for the 9:00 am riders until the later stages of the race/ride.
Awards:
New custom die cast metals. Antique brass, pewter and copper for the first three finishers in each classification.
The Flat River Race Series raffle. $1000.00 in bike shop bucks to be raffled off in three denominations. One $500.00 winner, one $300.00 winner and one $200.00 winner. If we reach 325 entries this spring will raffle these gift certificates off after the race. If we do not reach 325 entries then the drawing will be held after our fall race. To qualify you'll have to race both our spring and fall events. Good luck!
$1250.00 in cash awards if we reach 375 entries. Payouts as follows:
$250.00 - First 50 mile female
$250.00 - First 50 mile male
$250.00 - First 50 mile team
$250.00 - First 28 mile female
